Webmaster Tools help you see how search engines view your site. You can easily set up accounts with Google or Bing.
Google Search Console
"Not Found" Report: Check this report by going to Crawl > Crawl Errors > Not Found. It lists URLs where Google Bot found a 404 error (page not found). This can happen if someone links to your site incorrectly.
Sitemaps Issues: You can also check for errors in your Sitemaps file by going to Sitemaps > Issues.
Meta Tags and Titles: Google Search Console helps you find problems with your meta descriptions and title tags.
Links to Your Site: This report shows you the links pointing to your site. Use Fetch as Google Bot (under Diagnostics) to make sure your pages are returning the correct HTTP header codes (200, 302, 301, etc.). You can test this for web, mobile, and smartphone versions. You can also download this report in a spreadsheet format for easy analysis.
Bing Webmaster Tools
404 Report: This report lists pages Bing tried to access but found a 404 error.
Blocked URLs: Find out which URLs are blocked by your robots.txt file.
Dynamic URLs: Discover long dynamic URLs that might cause issues for Bing's crawler.
Malware: Check if any pages on your site are infected with malware.
Unsupported Content Types: Get a list of pages with unsupported content types.
Yahoo! Site Explorer used to provide complete backlink data but has been discontinued. Its features are now part of Bing Webmaster Tools, which only shows backlink data for sites you own, limited to 1,000 links for other sites.
Yahoo! Search
Even though Yahoo! Site Explorer is gone, Yahoo's search system offers useful tools:
Link Lists: Get lists of links to your pages or entire domains using link: http://www.yourdomain.tld.
Exclude Domains: Exclude links from specific domains or top-level domains using -site:domainx.com or -site:.co.uk.
Keyword Lists: Include or exclude pages with certain keywords using -keyword, -intitle: keyword, keyword, or intitle:keyword.
URL Attributes: Filter results by URL attributes with -inURL: keyword or inURL: keyword.
Domain Extensions: Refine results by domain extensions with site:com.
These tools are valuable for understanding and improving how search engines interact with your site.
